Lachie Stuart is the founder of a global movement created to empower men so they can become the man they were meant to be. The Man That Can Projects ultimate vision is to help men overcome mental and emotional challenges that are holding them back. However, this movement did not just appear out of thin air one day. Lachie’s drive and determination came many years after navigating his own journey of self-discovery.

In this episode, Lachie shares his story with us, from losing his identity as a young athlete to finding his place in the world as a young man struggling through relationships, insecurities, dabbling in recreational drugs and the occasional pub fight. This incredibly deep and insightful podcast was a fun one to record, diving into some really valuable topics as well as covering Lachie's eight areas all men must master.

WHAT KOKODA IS ALL ABOUT

For Glen, completing the Kokoda Trail 79 times is not about fueling his ego. It's about the people. Connecting with the people on the experience with Glen became the ultimate goal.

Second to this, mindfulness is the second best thing. Sitting in your thoughts and being detached from the outside world allows you to make decisions on things you probably already have the answer to. Kokoda forces that on you. 

SMALL FIGHT, SMALL FIGHTER

For many, social media is a way to escape a shitty situation in their own lives. Whether that be a bad work situation, relationship or whatever it may be. 

f used well social media an be a good thing, but if you aren't feeling good about yourself, it can have the reverse effect. There are plenty of good people you can follow who can light your fire. If your fire isn't blazing with the people you follow on social media, cut them out now, the Kardashians won't even notice.

ADDICTIVE COMFORT

Change is bloody uncomfortable. The biggest addition in the world is not drugs, alcohol or sex, it's comfort.

In this modern world, we have become so accustom to technology and how easy everything is. Food delivered to your door, online shopping, you don't even have to switch a light on anymore, just ask Siri, Alexa or ole mate Google. 

The best thing you can do to counteract this right now is to get off your arse and go and pick your dinner up from the restaurant that is 400m away.




IT'S NOT MY FAULT!

Everything that happens to you, is your responsibility or you had a responsibility in that happening. By taking responsibility for everything that happens to you, you have control on your outcome. 

Taking ownership is the first step of learning from a situation, looking at your reaction and questioning your decisions is the next.

You can't make the same mistake twice because the second time it is an informed decision as you already know the outcome.



HERE IF YOU NEED!

I don't know what I want? I don't know what my goals are? I don't know what I want to achieve?

Alot of people are not clinically diagnosed with depression or anxiety however can feel sad, depressed or anxious and this can cause them to be what is most commonly described as "being in a rut".

Glen Azar encourages you to just take an action. - within in the next 24hours. Just take a small step to make a change, it doesn't have to be a big one. Just move forward in any positive decisions you make.


HITTING ROCK BOTTOM IS PRETTY HARD.

Hitting rock bottom in September 2013, Lachie was arrested after getting into a fight at a night club in Toowoomba. Sitting in the gutter with his hands in cuffs, Lachie decided that was enough of acting like a disgusting grub and turned himself around.

THERE HAS NEVER BEEN MORE OPPORTUNITY TO BREAK THE MOULD

Stop giving a shit about what people think of you. We are so conditioned to get married, buy the house, buy the fancy car and that is supposedly what determines success. BUT is that honestly what you determine as success and have you made those decisions because that is what makes you happy?

YOU DON'T NEED THAT NEW CAR BRO.

Most people have absolutely no idea how much money they actually need to live the life they want. Everyone is always chasing this idea of being "rich" but have no idea what the actual dollar value of that is. 

You can spend years and years working your arse off for a goal that has no basis or specifics to help steer. 

DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR, TAKE THE BATH

Spirituality means different things to each person but it does not necessarily mean that you believe in a higher power. Spirituality to could mean drawing yourself a bath, throwing in a bath bomb, pour a glass of red and listening to Matthew McConaughey tell you a story on Calm.

DO YOU REALLY NEED TICKS NEXT TO YOUR NAME?

Just give it a go. No one else has your story. 

Some people spend half their life training in a field that they 100% do not want to be in when they come out the other side. Why don't you just give it a go and then see what evolves and then determine what qualifications you need.

Lachie is a Master Practitioner in NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming) & mens breakthrough coach. He specialises in empowering men to take ownership for their lives & confidently be their authentic self.

In 2014 he drew the line in the sand and decided he had more to give than how he was currently living.

Since sharing his journey of change on social media it lead him to the coaching space.

In 2018 he founded The Man That Can Project as a way to continue spreading his message while creating a global community of men who are empowered to be their best self.

Through his work he has transformed 100’s of men’s lives & collaborated with Lululemon Australia, Lifeline Australia, Full Spectrum Education, Braintap Technologies and more.

ALL ABOUT CHRIS MCINTYRE

After finishing high school, Ollie moved to Northern India where he taught English within a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery. While here,he was enchanted by and immersed himself into the Tibetan and Indian culture. This is where Ollie developed his passion for Yoga and Meditation practice.

Upon returning to Australia, Ollie started a business economics degree at Melbourne Uni however it wasn't long before his true passion of learning about the human body pulled him back in made the decision to switch degrees to Physiotherapy.




Ollie now is both a practising Physiotherapist and yoga instructor and is still passionate about learning and mindful living.
