Meet the artist
Aiden Howes
Aidan is a Sydney-based illustrator focused on Australiana and retro design. He cut his teeth designing cans for the Aussie craft beer industry, and has since expanded to music festival posters, t-shirt graphics, skate decks and even the odd pair of budgy smugglers.
About the design
Aiden Howes has always been drawn to the bright, high-energy feel of 80s and 90s retro design, jumping at any chance to lean into that aesthetic. While developing this print, he found himself deep in a rabbit hole of vintage movie posters and neon ski jackets from the era, with those bold colours and playful textures shaping the direction from there.
Known for reimagining familiar Aussie imagery and wildlife through a quirky lens, Aiden hopes the finished piece sparks a smile and a chuckle for anyone who spots the details woven throughout the print.
