Wildside Reading Retrospective 2 minutes Next Bonfire

Let’s not beat around the bush, last year was bloody tough for everyone.

We’ve all been flat out like a lizard drinking, just waiting for things to slow down and hoping to catch a break. We all want less worries, more certainty and as Darryl Kerrigan would say “so much serenity”. But is a carefree life actually possible or are we all just dreaming?

At TradeMutt, we believe that instead of burying our heads in the sand, now is the time to recognise that these difficulties will always be a part of our lives, and the sooner we embrace that, the better equipped we become to take back control.

Challenges should be expected, and when they show up, we have the opportunity to prove to ourselves what we’re made of. Proving what we are made of doesn’t mean putting on a brave face and bottling up what’s really going on. It means understanding that when life happens, we have the power to choose how we respond, we don’t have to do it alone, and with every challenge comes a great opportunity to overcome, learn and grow.

There is a lesson in every one of life’s challenges. In RETROspect, it’s up to you to identify those lessons and realise that with every challenge life has thrown your way, not only are you still undefeated, you’re also stronger than you were before.

Take the time to look back on where you’ve come from. You’re supposed to make mistakes, it’s important to reflect and learn, but with every lesson comes an opportunity to pave the road that you want to travel.

T.I.E

The way we talk to and about ourselves is often the only barrier holding us back. But, sometimes all you need to do is have an honest chat with yourself and figure out if your internal narrative and self-talk is helping you or getting in your way.  T.I.E. (take it easy) in some tie-dye as a reminder to not only take it easy on yourself but to take it easy on those around you and take it easy on things that are out of your control.

WHOOPSIE DAISY

You can’t change the past, but you can always change your perspective. Don’t let your mistakes stop you from getting up again. You’re in control. Take a deep breath and bloom in “Whoopsie Daisy”. Owning your mistakes loud and proud might just help someone else own theirs too. Conversations guaranteed.

OPEN ROAD

Destination: unknown. Chuck on “Open Road” and enjoy the journey because there are no backseat drivers here. No one has ever travelled your road before, and although there may be a few pot holes in the rear view mirror, out in front is nothing but untravelled opportunity. Read a good book, stop for a swim every now and then and always pat dogs because this is one road that’s yours to pave.
